🚗The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (#SIMI) has reported unprecedented growth in electric vehicle (EV) registrations for January, with 4,925 new EVs recorded—a 20% surge compared to January 2024’s 4,093 registrations. This marks the strongest monthly performance for EV sales in Ireland to date.
📉#Tesla dominated Ireland’s EV market as the top-selling brand in 2024, but new figures show that the brand fell outside the top ten rankings, with Volkswagen claiming the lead, followed by #Kia, #Hyundai, #Nissan, and #Peugeot. The remaining spots in the top ten were secured by #Volvo, #Byd, #MG, #Ford, and #Skoda.
🏆 The #bestselling EV models for the month included the Volkswagen ID.4 at the forefront, trailed by the #kiaev3, #hyundaikona, #kiaev6, and #nissanleaf. Other popular models were the #skodaenyaq, #volvoex30, #mg4, #fordexplorer, and #hyundaiioniq5.
